Veneers

Veneers are made of porcelain or composite and are placed over the front teeth to change their colour or shape. Veneers can significantly improve the appearance of teeth that are discoloured, chipped or slightly at an angle.Veneers can be used as an alternative to crowns in particular for front teeth. Veneers are very thin pieces of specially shaped porcelain placed and glued over the front of your teeth with little or no tooth preparation required.

Composite Veneers

Composite (direct) veneers are usually performed in a single visit to your cosmetic dentist. The procedure is an application of a veneer, which is colour matched to existing teeth, that is bonded directly to the tooth's surface. Composite Veneers have a life of five to seven years.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain (indirect) veneers are made in the laboratory, from a very thin porcelain material. Porcelain veneers usually require two or more visits to the dentist as an impression of your teeth is taken from which a veneer, colour matched to your existing teeth, is made. The veneer is then glued directly onto your tooth. Porcelain veneers are more expensive than composite veneers but last ten years to fifteen years or more.
